How do I get started with TopBid?

After downloading TopBid from the App Store, launch the app and go to Settings (gear icon) to enter your business information, default labor rate, and material costs. These settings will be used throughout the app for calculations and documentation.

Can I import my existing material pricing?

Yes! TopBid allows you to import material pricing from CSV, JSON, or PDF files. Go to Settings > Import/Export > Import Material Catalog to upload your existing material pricing data.

How do I create a new job?

From the Jobs View, you can create either a Direct Job or a Contractor Job:

  • For Direct Jobs: Tap "New Direct Job" and fill in the job details.
  • For Contractor Jobs: First, tap "New Contractor" to add a contractor if they don't exist yet. Then, tap on the contractor and select "Add Job" to create a job for that contractor.

How do I generate and share an estimate or invoice?

To generate an estimate or invoice:

  1. Select the job from the Jobs View
  2. Navigate to the Summary View
  3. Tap "Generate PDF" to create the document
  4. Use the share sheet that appears to email the PDF to your client, save it to Files, or share it through other apps

You can toggle between estimate and invoice modes using the "Convert to Invoice" or "Convert to Estimate" buttons in the Summary View.

How do I back up my data?

TopBid allows you to create backups of all your job data. Go to Settings > Import/Export > Backup Data to save your data. You can restore this data later if needed using the Restore Data option in the same menu.

What if I encounter a bug or issue?

As an early development version, TopBid may have occasional bugs. If you encounter any issues:

  1. Check the troubleshooting section in the User Guide
  2. Try restarting the app
  3. Send details of the issue to topbid@utahgran.com including what you were doing when the issue occurred

Is my data secure?

TopBid stores all your data locally on your device. We don't collect or store your business data on our servers. For extra security, we recommend regularly backing up your data using the Backup Data feature in Settings.
